Abstract:   (4500 Views)
Colorectal cancer is one of the most prevalent cancers in the world. It's survival expectancy depends on the time of diagnosis, stage and grade of the tumor, and general condition of the patient. Survival expectancy of this type of cancer reveals the quality of diagnostic and therapeutic services in the community. To improve and standardize the treatment modalities in this field, much research has been conducted worldwide. In this study, patients with a confirmed diagnosis of colorectal tumors (CRT) who were under treatment or referred to the Oncology Department of Imam Khomeini Medical, Educational and Research Complex within the years 1987-1991, were selected. This study showed that the 5 year survival rate of these patients was maximally 21 %.
