Abstract: (4290 Views)
Malakoplakia is a rare disease with undefined etiology that has been almost
exclusively reported in urology and pathology journals. We are presenting a case
of colonic malakoplakia in an I8-year old young man who was referred to us with
a four-year history of intermittent rectorrhagia. The pathological examination of
the endoscopically resected specimen revealed pathognomonic features of malakoplakia,
von Hansemann cells and Michaelis-Gutmann bodies.
